Duels are an ace band from Leeds. We've had a kind of symmetrical career with them: we tried to get known the same time as them, put our first album out at the same time as them, and now the second too.
They ended up doing their own thing for the last 12-18 months, and dug deep. They went into this kind of internal hibernation, but I was really privileged to be kept in the loop throughout the writing. I've heard loads of the songs in demo form, and some that didn't make the album - and it's all great.
They wanted to make this whole thing as one album, and they took no prisoners in making it what it is. They've been through similar struggles as us. Their second album's called The Barbarians Move In, it's coming out in the middle of April and it's going to be dead good.
